After Hours Course

DevMountain’s 16-Week UX Design After-Hours Course

During our 16-week after-hours course, students learn new, marketable skills that they can add to their resumes. Students can take our UX Design After-Hours Course at our Lehi Campus.

Students receive in-person training from a team of industry experts.

Student Schedule

Because our after-hours course is rigorous, we break up our schedule with lectures, presentations, labs and project building. Take a look below to get a good idea of what your schedule will be like during the UX After-Hours Program:

Tuesdays and Thursday from 6PM - 9PM | Saturdays from 9AM - 2PM

Instruction-Led Lectures and Labs

Learn key objectives through guided practice, discussions, presentations, guest lectures, and activities.

THURSDAYS

Learn key objectives through guided practice, discussions, presentations, guest lectures and activities.

SATURDAYS

Creative Exercises & Workshops

On saturdays we start with a creative exercise to get your creativity going. Then, you will work the remainder of the time on group and personal projects. Instructors and mentors are available at this time to help you with your projects.

Course Curriculum

While you’re at our UX Design After-Hours Bootcamp, you’ll have nights and Saturdays full of fun, interactive learning. You’ll walk away with the ability and confidence you need to practice user experience design. You’ll master the following concepts:

UI

UX Research

You’ll learn how to find and use qualitative and quantitative data to find actionable insights that will help improve and shape products. We will cover conducting user research interviews. You will also learn how to use analytics to discover opportunities to improve experiences.

Design

Prototyping

Prototyping is an important tool for validating the design direction of the user’s experience. Prototyping often leads to rapid improvements and a much better product. You will learn how to build low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes with industry standard prototyping tools.

Architecture

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

You’ll learn how to architect the information of a product. You’ll do that by learning the tools and strategies that will help you build user flows. By the end of the course, you will be able to sketch and wireframe in order to help you facilitate important conversations with key stakeholders. You’ll also learn the essentials to creating successful microinteractions.

UI

VISUAL DESIGN

You’ll learn important design principles that will enable you to design successful user interfaces. You will learn industry leading design software that you’ll use for the rest of your career.

Mouse

MOTION DESIGN

You’ll learn principles of animation and motion that will help you design modern interfaces that feel natural to the user.
